UST Global rolls out Employee Assistance Programme

Trivandrum: In a first of its kind among companies in Technopark, Trivandrum; UST Global has given shape to a programme aimed at helping employees by way of expert advice and counselling wherever required.

Called ‘My Mitr’, the programme offers expert services in diverse areas such as legal matters, financial management, personal relationships and psychological counselling. The services will be offered free of cost to the employees and their immediate family members. The idea was born out of the realisation that the modern times bring along a lot of stress and many times people find themselves overwhelmed with conflicting priorities.

According to Alexander Varghese, CAO, UST Global, “As an organization, UST Global cares deeply for its associates and My Mitr was conceived with the intention of supporting the associates by providing an Employee Assistance Programme that can help them resolve issues they are faced with. This will contribute to their overall wellness and the organization too will benefit through a more productive and engaged workforce.”

UST Global has reviewed competitive practices in several organizations across the country before arriving at the one most suited for the needs of its employees. UST Global already has an employee assistance program for its employees in the US. My Mitr is more comprehensive in its scope and UST Global is introducing this for the first time for its India associates. My Mitr is an India-specific initiative, and will be evaluated for extension to associates in other parts of the globe too.

After conceptualizing the idea in the beginning of the year, PPC Worldwide, an eminent player in this field, was roped in as partner for this initiative. PPC Worldwide currently supports many Tier I companies in India in this regard. UST Global held a detailed discussion with the PPC Worldwide on the requisites and a contract was signed with them for their service.

One major effort was in terms of building awareness about the programme and effectively communicating this to UST Global’s associates. PPC Worldwide would provide toll free numbers, chat and email facility to UST Global’s associates to call / write the issues they are confronting.
