Netherlands explore collaborations with Kerala IT companies

Trivandrum: Alphonsus Stoelinga, the Netherlands Ambassador to India, has offered all possible support to the proposed delegation of the Kerala IT companies to Netherlands in March 2014. He made this announcement during his visit to Technopark, Trivandrum today which was organized by Group of Technology Companies (GTech), the industry body of IT companies in Kerala.

The Ambassador had meetings with the top executives of some of the companies in Technopark including Tata Consultancy Services, UST Global, SunTec and ARS Transport. He promised the support of the Netherlands embassy in India for those companies looking to set up offices in Netherlands.

Interacting with a cross section of the IT industry in Technopark, the Ambassador said, “There are a lot of areas including IT, agriculture and healthcare where Netherlands and Kerala can collaborate. We would be happy to facilitate trade missions to and from Netherlands to achieve this goal”.

K G Girish Babu, CEO of Technopark, briefed the Ambassador on the various initiatives and projects that the park has undertaken. The Ambassador was impressed with the way the infrastructure for IT is spread out across the State in the form of Technopark, Infopark and Cyberpark and their satellite centres. He also went around the various facilities in Technopark.

Earlier, the Ambassador had met with the Minister for Industries & IT, Shri P K Kunhalikutty, at the Secretariat.

GTech is planning to undertake a delegation to Netherlands in March 2014 as a part of the Global IT Connect, an initiative conceived to connect the IT industry in the state with various parts of the world. Binu Jacob, Convenor – Global IT Connect outlined the proposed programme for the Ambassador. GTech had earlier led a delegation to Netherlands in 2011.

Anoop P Ambika, Secretary, GTech; Rajesh Mathachen, COO, Confianz and Renjith Ramanujam, CEO of GTech were among those present during the visit of the Netherlands Ambassador.
