Kochi to host HTML5 Developer Conference on April 12-13

Kochi: The XIME campus at Kalamassery in Kochi will host Kerala’s first-of-its-kind HTML5 / JavaScript Developer Conference on April 12-13, 2014. The organisers expect around 100 participants from across south India to attend the event as it will be a good platform to network with other developers with the same interests.

The event will feature sessions from various fields of HTML5 and JavaScript. The convergence of web browser and operating system, the future of web graphics, EmberJS and Javascript Robotics are some of the sessions being planned for the two day conference. One of the key attractions will be the session by Mozillian Engineering Partner, Nick Desaulniers, who will be flying in from Mountain View, California, to talk on ‘The Convergence of Browser and Operating System’.

Shwetank Dixit, Developer Evangelist from Opera will be talking about the future of Web graphics. He’ll be discussing advanced techniques and technologies related to CSS, SVG, Canvas, WebGL, etc. Syed Aqueel Haider will talk about EmberJS. How Ember.js handles client side MVC? What do we gain from using it? Praveen Sridhar will talk about how web technologies like WebSockets & WebRTC can be used to extend the limitless possibilities of Open Hardware.

According to the organisers, developer conferences happen around the world and some of them in India too but very rarely do such events come to South India. That’s where a bunch of young developers from Kerala, web lovers from the local community and Mozilla Kerala came up with this idea of bringing HTML and JavaScript developers under one roof to network, interact and build, as the first-of-its-kind HTML5 / JavaScript Developer Conference to Kochi.

Mozilla Kerala is a community under Mozilla Foundation that was formed with the one agenda of spreading the mission of Mozilla to the masses of Kerala. Mozilla Kerala has been actively conducting events in Kerala and representing Mozilla for the past several months.

Mozilla, Opera Software, Kochi based IT companies Toobler Technologies and Codeyssus Labs are associated with this event. For registrations and other details, please check out the event homepage.
