MTS India rolls out iNNOVATSii 2014 to seek telecom ideas


Gurgaon: Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) that provides telecom services under the brand MTS has announced the roll out of MTS iNNOVATSii, a unique initiative inviting telecom ideas that can be applied in commercial, social or government spheres with a high level objective to improve the overall quality of life.

INNOVATSii, which means ‘Innovation’ in Russian language, is a concept created by MTS Russia and has been organised in Russia and CIS countries for the last four years. This year, iNNOVATSii makes its debut in India. The contest is inviting participation from leading engineering and management institutions in India including IITs, Regional Engineering Colleges amongst others. MTS India is also encouraging its employees and their friends and family to be a part of MTS iNNOVATSii.

According to Dmitry Shukov, CEO, MTS India, “We are delighted to bring iNNOVATSii, to India. It is an international contest which has been successfully hosted in Russia for the last four years. It is a unique initiative which provides an opportunity for talent in the age group of 18 to 35 to unleash their creativity and author projects which apply telecom technologies in the commercial, social and in the government space. The intent clearly is to improve quality of life, both for India and possibly the world. The top five teams will get an opportunity to showcase their ideas at the India-Russia Youth Summit being planned in New Delhi. The teams will also win an all-expenses paid educational trip to Moscow. The travel itinerary will include interaction with senior executives from MTS Russia and Sistema JSFC, along with a visit to the state-of-the-art Innovation Centre in the Russian Capital.”

MTS iNNOVATSii is inviting projects on three distinct themes – e-Governance, Improving Life Quality (Transport, Security, Housing and Utility Services) and Socially & Educationally relevant projects. A maximum of four participants can team up together to design a project.

The entire process will be covered in two phases. The project overview needs to be submitted online at Top 10 selected teams will present their projects for a final review to the expert panel in New Delhi, from which, top five projects would be declared winners.
