Trivandrum: The Technopark campus in the capital city will host the third edition of In50hrs Trivandrum, the prototyping event that is organized nationally by the Chennai based Start up Centre, a Hub and Accelerator for Tech Startups, on November 28-30, 2014.

Vijay Anand, who is behind initiatives like In50hrs said, “We have realized how tier-2 cities need to groom entrepreneurship as well, and how In50hrs helps make that connect. In the past, In50hrs have had two very successful editions in Thiruvananthapuram. The idea is to break away from the high concentrated IT hubs and silicon valleys and develop centres at the lesser density, low risk, growing cities, that are today fully equipped with infrastructure that can support entrepreneurship. There is no dearth of talent in the smaller cities, who only need to be groomed and require the support of the ecosystem.”

In50hrs, is an Idea-to-Prototype event that happens over a weekend, where developers, designers, and ideasmiths participate, to pitch ideas, form teams, and build functional prototypes – solving real world problems. The team demonstrates the prototypes at the Demo evening to peers and a panel of jury in flat 50 hours. In50hrs is the first step in bringing a Startup Idea to life.

“Although in the past, the participants have mostly been from colleges, we have analyzed huge potential amongst professionals who are trying hard to make it big without a community base. There is a huge talent pool that is eager to join the startup ecosystem. In50hrs, with its pre accelerator program, is able to bridge that gap by grooming the Entrepreneur enthusiasts by setting them in the direction towards equipping them with the tools they need in order to be initiated in the start-up community”, he added.

In this pursuit, In50hrs have had overwhelming response and are planning to go leaps and bounds in helping people with an idea, to turning them into building prototypes and grooming them into successful entrepreneurs. In50hrs has also planned out to hold the event in Kochi in the coming months

The event starts at 6 pm on Friday and winds up by Sunday 9 pm. Check out www.in50hrs.com for more details.
