CAFIT conducts IT seminar as a part of Rising Kerala event


Kozhikode: As part of the Rising Kerala International Industrial Exhibition being held in Kozhikode, the Calicut Forum for IT (CAFIT) recently conducted an IT Seminar named ‘Rising Kerala 2014 – The new wave of Entrepreneurship’.

The Rising Kerala expo being organised by the Kerala State Small Industries Association (KSSIA) focuses on various sectors like Footwear, General Engineering, Wood, food, Plastic, Building Material and Information Technology, etc. The events spread over two months conclude today with an Industrial and IT Fair.

According to the organisers, Kerala with its plethora of opportunities is the right place for investors and entrepreneurs and can be rightly named as Investor / Entrepreneurs’ Own Country. Rising Kerala is the gateway to showcase, explore and build business interests in the Malabar region of Kerala.

The events conducted under the Information Technology sector aimed to showcase the entrepreneurial strength of Kerala in the IT sector. The trade show brought together buyers and sellers in the field of IT together under one platform.

The IT Seminar had four sessions on Big Data Analysis Techniques by Dr. Mansoor Alicherry, VP – Engineering, Vizury Interactive Solutions, Bangalore; Technology, Trends & Business Opportunities in SaaS & Cloud Computing by Suresh Sambandam, CEO of Orange Scape, Chennai; Mobile Applications Development (Android) by N P Haris, CEO of Baabte System Technologies, Kozhikode; and Nine Questions every Technology Business owner should answer by Madhavan R Nair, Director of Cambridge Ventures.

M T Ramakrishnan, CEO of CAFIT; Dr. P Mohan, Professor of Management Studies, Calicut University; V Noushad, General Convenor, Rising Kerala; Dr. Vineeth Paleri, Professor, NIT-C; Ajith Kumar R Pillai CEO, Cyber Park, Calicut and James Thomas, President, CMA were among those present.

Calicut Forum for Information Technology (CAFIT), established in the year 2008 is a Non Profit Organization, with a focus to bring a conducive eco system for technology entrepreneurship in Malabar.
