Kochi: IT major Infosys has selected Kochi based Toc-H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST) as its ‘campus connect advanced partner institute’ to provide technical and soft skills training to the students and make them industry-ready.
In a release, Dr. D Vincent H Wilson, Principal of TIST said, “The partnership agreement has been running for the last few years and now it has entered a new phase. It has helped the students as well as the faculty gain high quality technical training from the industry leaders”.
Campus Connect is Infosys’ initiative to help increase India’s competitiveness in the knowledge economy. “The initiative is a great model through which we are creating a pool of highly capable talent for growth requirements in the Information Technology (IT) space. It is aimed at creating an effective talent pool in the college campus,” he said.
Dr Wilson said that through the programme, the faculty is also provided training on the industry perspective in order to align the college curriculum with industry requirements. “The students who undergo training in this programme will get priority in campus training at Infosys Mysore campus,” he said.
“Nearly 85 per cent of students have been placed in leading companies through campus recruitment this year and we are hoping to attract more companies to the campus for placements this year,” he added.
Established in 2002, the Toc H Institute of Science & Technology is one of the leading self financing colleges for engineering in Kerala and is located at Arakkunnam in Ernakulam District.
