UST Global wins Kerala Management Association Young Managers award

Kochi: UST Global today announced that it has won first position at Kerala Management Association’s 33rd Annual Competition for Young Managers 2015. The competition recognized original research from teams that examined and articulately presented solutions on bridging the gap between education and employability in Kerala.

In a felicitation ceremony held at Kochi, chief guest Loknath Behera IPS, DGP – Prisons & Correctional Services, handed over the award to UST Global’s team.

UST Global’s model framework, ‘Attitude, Skills and Knowledge – Methodology, Content and Quality of Teaching’ (ASK-MCQ), which identified the factors of employability and its importance for employers in various sectors, was chosen over 30 other teams that participated.

The jury attributed UST Global’s team success to the meticulous approach in understanding the gaps between education and employability, analysing data from the research effectively, and representing the study on a simple, easily-understood matrix. Furthermore, UST Global’s presentation in the final round stood out for creatively incorporating interesting elements of storytelling and Sanskrit ‘shlokas’.

Sunil Balakrishnan, Centre Head – Kochi, UST Global said, “We are honoured to be awarded by KMA for the second consecutive year. It recognizes the robust innovation culture of UST Global and reinforces our mission to transform billions of lives around the world through digital technology. In order to create and leverage a young talent pool, there would be a need for stronger engagement between academia and industries in addition to developing a sustainable educational infrastructure. With this year’s competition, KMA encouraged the collaboration of young corporate managers, and opened up more ideas to create better job prospects for graduates in Kerala.”
