Trivandrum: As part of a week-long celebration being organized in Kerala to coincide with the launch of the Prime Minister’s ambitious ‘Digital India’ programme, Minister for Industries & IT, Shri P K Kunhalikutty will launch a bunch of e-Governance initiatives of the Kerala Government which includes e-KYC for Aadhaar Project, Citizen Portal for e-Office Project, and e-Learning Portal on July 06, 2015 at Thiruvananthapuram.
According to a note from the Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM), the Government of Kerala decided to implement e-Office at all departments in Government Secretariat in August 2013. So far it has been implemented at 21 departments either fully or partially. Most departments are using e-Office entirely for file processing while some others are still using physical processing for tapals with prior files.
e-Office Citizen Interface is created as a separate application with Read only access to e-Office database. It provides the facility to search for File/ Tapal and check its status. Also, any Government Orders and Circulars can also be searched and viewed. Citizen Interface will obviate the need for citizen visiting the Government office to check file status.
e-Learning Kerala is platform developed by KSITM for imparting education using the potential of information and communication technology. It is a tool or a platform that will empower Govt. departments and academic institutions to conduct online training programs and guide and manage students effectively by contextualizing the learning experience. The e-Learning system can be accessed at elearning.kerala.gov.in
The e-Learning platform of GoK offers a learning environment vastly different from the traditional classroom and helps the department /trainers /course creators to create an online classroom setting with opportunities for rich interaction and collaboration with their students.
e-KYC is a process in which the demographic data (such as Name, Address, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile number, Email address, etc.) and photograph collected by UIDAI are provided in the form of a digitally signed XML document, based on resident authorization received by UIDAI in the form of successful biometric or OTP based Aadhaar authentication. Aadhaar based e-KYC Services provides a facility for verification of Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) in the digitally signed electronic format.
