Trivandrum: Only after eight months of achieving the milestone of carrying out 1 crore certificate transactions under e-District in November 2014, the e-District project in Kerala has achieved yet another feat by crossing the 1.5 crores certificate transactions mark in July 2015.
Under e-District project, as on July 30, so far 1,50,20,639 applications for certificates has been received, of which more than 1.33 crores of certificates were issued. In the month of July itself more than 6.8 lakhs applications for certificates were received out of which more than 5.51 lakhs certificates were issued.
According to a press release from the Kerala State IT Mission, the nodal agency for implementing the e-District project, it took nearly 34 months for the project to touch first 50 lakh transactions since its inception in December 2010 in the pilot districts of Kannur and Palakkad, followed by the State-wide rollout in other districts by March 2013, another 13 months to reach 1 crore transactions, whereas it took only another 8 months to touch 1.5 crores, with the average transactions per month being 6.25 lakhs per month for the last 8 months.
Presently 24 certificates issued from the Revenue Department are issued under e-District project online. Income certificate (38 lakhs), Possession certificate (35.31 lakhs), Caste certificate (15.05 lakhs), One and the same certificate (12.84 lakhs), nativity certificate (10.99 lakhs) and Community certificate (10.64 lakhs) are the various types of certificates which were issued the most.
