Tvm: Kerala will set up about 100 IT zones, techno-lodges, over the next five years to attract more companies to the State and will invest about Rs.20-25 crore in the project. The techno-lodges, to be set up on the lines of IT parks, will be small in size and cater to small IT firms.
“We plan to have 100 techno-lodges over the next five years, offering 30-60 per cent cheaper rentals. These zones will be apt for companies looking at 50-500 seat centres,” Kerala Information Technology Secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar said. The funding of the project will depend on the location of the project. “Though we are looking at the public-private partnership model for investing in the project, the government could invest about Rs.20-25 crore,” he added. Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd. (KSITIL) will be the main governing body for the scheme. The first two Technolodges are getting ready in Kollam Dist.
