Trivandrum: Kerala Chief Minister Shri. Achuthanandan announced that the proposed Cyberpark in Kozhikode would be registered as a society on the lines of the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram and the Infopark in Kochi. The Cabinet had approved its bylaws. It had also decided to acquire land for the Kozhikode City Development Programme on a fast track basis.
Cyber Park, a Government of Kerala organization planned in the lines of Technopark at Thiruvananthapuram and Infopark in Kochi to build, operate and manage ITparks for the promotion and development of investment in IT and ITES industries in Malabar region of Kerala has been registered under the Societies Act 1860 on 28-01-09. Cyber Park is in the process of setting up IT parks at Kozhikode, at the SEZs approved at Kannur and Kasargode and may set up other such parks planned in future. Presence of large number of Engineering colleges and other technical institutions to provide easy manpower resource will be an attraction for the growth of IT/ITES industries in the region.
