BarCamp Kerala 7 ‘Christmas Edition’

Kottayam: The 7th edition of BarCamp Kerala (BCK7) will be held on 20 December, 2009, Sunday at the Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology in Chetipuzha near Changanasery.

BarCamp is an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.

BarCamps are unconferences, which mean there are no spectators, only participants. There are no registration fees or any charges for a barcamp as this is a user-generated conference.

About 120 persons have registered for the BarCamp. According to Anand Subramanian, one of the organisers, “Everyone attending the barcamp is a superstar as far as I am concerned. Some of the brightest minds in Linux, Networking, web applications, social media and search
marketing come together here”.

The previous edition of BarCamp Kerala (BCK6) was held at the Rajagiri College of Engineering in Kochi on 11 October 2009. Bar camps are usually a place for the geeks in Kerala to get together.
