Kerala IT signs MoU with German IT Park

Tvm: Kerala IT has signed a MoU with PRE Park, a major IT park in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The MoU provides for mutual cooperation between IT & ITeS firms operating in Kerala and those in Kaiserslautern for exploring business opportunities, new markets and outsourcing.

 

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Siddartha Bhattacharya, CEO, Infopark Kochi with Mr. Michael Wenk, Managing Partner, PRE Park, Kaiserslautern in the presence of Dr. Klaus Weichel, Mayor of Kaiserslautern and Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark Trivandrum at a function held in Kaiserslautern, Germany on March 05, 2010.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Klaus Weichel, Lord Mayor of the City of Kaiserslautern said, “I hope that many projects will be run in the future and that many jobs will be created in both parks. Due to the great success of the PRE Park, more estate will be developed to enable all the wonderful visions to come true. There will be enough space for many Indian firms to locate their German subsidiary!”

 

Siddhartha Bhattacharya, CEO, Infopark said, “This association between Infopark and PRE-Park is a very significant step for industry of both sides which can use the global networks of both these parks to further reach new markets, collaborate on new technology and develop new partnerships”.

 

PRE-Park Kaiserslautern, a former conversion area of approx. 150 acres, is considered the epitome of the development of Kaiserslautern into a technology hub, and today is home to more than 100 companies employing aabout 3000 people. Under the MoU, a virtual office shall promote and support this exchange. Mutual visits of companies and delegations from both sides are expected over the course of 2010 and beyond to strengthen the partnership and utilize the full potential. In addition, the MoU also plan on working together to establish a worldwide, international network of technology parks. In a second step, the technology parks want to contribute to expanding partnerships beyond the technology parks to the areas of research, science and business.
