Tvm: Finance Minister Shri T M Thomas Isaac today inaugurated the IP based CCTV Surveillance System at the Commercial Taxes Check Post at Amaravila. The system using the Kerala State Wide Area Network (KSWAN) would enable the online – anytime, anywhere and real time – monitoring of the Commercial Taxes Check Posts in the State by the concerned officials.
Speaking after the launch function in Trivandrum, the Minister expressed hope that the new system would root out corruption besides giving timely service to the transporters using the Inter-State roads. “This system has been installed as part of our efforts to modernise the Check Posts and to make Check Posts corruption free. Ten Check Posts in the State would have this Surveillance System in the next three months at an average cost of Rs.15 lakhs per Check Post”, he added.
The control room of the CCTV Surveillance System is based at the Commercial Taxes Headquarters at Trivandrum. The system installed at the Commercial Taxes Check Post at Amaravila has eight very high resolution IP Network cameras (four fixed and four with pan, zoom and tilt features) with a two weeks recording facility. All the cameras can be remotely controlled from the Control Room using a desktop application which gives much flexibility in the operations.
The IP based CCTV Surveillance System has been installed by the Technopark based OneView Systems in association with Keltron.
