The state-of-the-art IT park is expected to offer direct employment for 60,000 people and about 1,50,000 indirect jobs. The Cyber City is planned as an integrated township with residential apartments, schools, shopping malls, service apartments and infrastructure facilities for IT and ITeS companies.
The project is coming up on 70 acres purchased from HMT in 2005 through bidding. The Industries Minister had laid the foundation stone for the project in January 2008 but the project got embroiled in litigation over the sale of the land by HMT. Later the deal was approved by the courts.
