Kochi all set to host International Security & Hacking Conference


Kochi: As part of the International Information Security Day, the Information Security Research Association along with the Matriux Security Community is organising an International Security and Hacking Conference titled c0c0n 2011 in Kochi on October 7 & 8, 2011. The Pre-Con Workshop will be held on October 6. Various technical, non-technical and community events will be organised as part of the programme. This is the second edition of c0c0n (pronounced cocoon).

The annual information security event will feature 25 Sessions in two days across two tracks. There are 14 Pre-Con Workshops, 7 New Security Tools Releases and 3 new exploit releases planned as part of the event. c0c0n is aimed at providing a platform to discuss, showcase, educate, understand and spread awareness on the latest trends in information, cyber and hi-tech crimes.

According to Manu Zacharia, one of the main organiser, “c0c0n will be a platform for thorough discussions on various cyber security aspects, including Banking issues, new developments in cyber warfare & cyber terrorism, vulnerabilities of smart phones and mobile payment gateways. We will have more than 20 world renowned security experts and hackers to speak about these issues. Apart from ethical hackers and cyber security professionals, representatives from government agencies and the Defence Forces are also expected for the event.

Information security, Wi-Fi malware for fun & profit and Section 43A IT Act compliance are some of the hot topics to be presented during the conference. Few seats are available and the organisers are offering last minute discounts. Please check out the event home page for further details.
