Tvm: A one day workshop for enabling ‘Excellence in Higher Education and Technology through ICT and NPTEL Resources’ is being organised by Eduworld Sciencenet, Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management – Kerala (IIITM-K) and NPTEL based at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras on January 28, 2012 at the Technopark in Trivandrum.
The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India. NPTEL provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams. The mission of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of Engineering education in the country by providing free online courseware.
Under the NPTEL programme, over 320 faculty members in the IITs and IISc have developed content in about 230 courses catering to the undergraduate engineering curriculum. This content is available in the form of Recorded Video Lectures (RVL) and as supplementary learning materials for regular engineering college courses in web-accessible format.
The workshop is organised to establish a common platform and community to share and exchange educational resources and enable effective utilisation of such valuable resources to reach higher levels of academic excellence. The workshop is targeted at administrators of colleges, universities, research institutions, students and faculty members of colleges and schools and scientists.
