Trivandrum: The Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (KELTRON) has bagged an order worth Rs.1.26 crores from M/s Essar Projects (India) Ltd., Durgapur for supply and commissioning of various capacity UPS Systems required for Ammonia and Urea Plants being set up at Burdwan district, West Bengal. According to a release, Keltron has bagged this order against stiff competition from M/s. Hitachi Hirel Power Electronics Pvt. Ltd.
Keltron provides seismic qualified UPS Systems of up to 1000 KVA capacity based on state-of-the-art IGBT technology. The Power Electronics Group of Keltron Karakulam unit is engaged in the manufacture of industrial grade UPS systems and has supplied to various Power Plants since 1973. Major customers include Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. High capacity UPS systems developed and manufactured by Keltron are working in various atomic power plants like Kaiga, Rajasthan and Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu.
The Power Electronics Group (PEG) of Keltron is a pioneer in the field of UPS Systems in the country designing and manufacturing to a diverse range of applications. Keltron is a preferred vendor for NPCIL and is approved by leading organizations such as EIL, NTPC, ONGC and GAIL for supply of UPS Systems, Battery Chargers, Rectifiers, Distribution Panels and related products.
Over the years, PEG has recorded some significant achievements like first in the country to design and develop 90 KVA UPS, first in the country to design and develop 500KVA & 600 KVA UPS qualifying seismic parameters for NPCIL and high capacity UPS Systems for C&I systems at more than 70 installations of NTPC, DVC, State Electricity Boards and process industries.
