Trivandrum: From today, a person can know the status of their complaints at police stations or First Information Report (FIR) online through the official website of the Kerala Police. Minister for Home & Vigilance, Shri Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan inaugurated the online facility to track FIRs at a function held at Thiruvananthapuram today.
A person who wants to track or know the status of their FIR can access the Kerala Police website (keralapolice.gov.in) and click the link ‘Know your FIR Status’. The FIR number or name of the petitioner or date of registering the FIR has to be given to access the details. The status of the case, including the acts and sections invoked, contact details of the investigating officer, name of the filing court, and case details, etc is available online.
Cases registered at police stations will be recorded through the Daily Crime Reporting and Monitoring System (DCRMS) and the details are conveyed to the public through the interface on the Kerala Police website. The online system will enable senior officers to monitor the progress of the investigation. The details on the website will also help the police to keep track of crime cases.
Kerala Police had recently launched an ICT enabled Citizen Helpdesk using which a person in Kerala is able to file a complaint, track and even know the status of a petition online from any Police Station across the State. The ICT enabled Citizen Helpdesk provides a trouble free interface for people who approach the Police Stations for their various requirements.
This facility is being provided and maintained by the Police Computer Centre at the State Crime Records Bureau of Kerala Police.
