All what the students of Schools and from Engineering / Arts Colleges in Kerala need to do is to upload their innovative ideas on the YouTube and five of them stand this lifetime chance to make a trip to the cradle of tech revolution in the US.

Startup Village, entrusted by the State Government to choose these kids, has formally launched the competition named ‘SV Square’ (Startup Village to Silicon Valley). Asha Jadeja of Rajeev Motwani Foundation from Silicon Valley, which is partnering with Startup Village for this initiative, formally announced the competition during her visit to India’s first telecom incubator here at the Kinfra Hi-tech Park.

Recently Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy had announced this ambitious programme during his visit to Startup Village to provide right exposure to the bright kids and thereby motivate the younger generation to innovate and turn entrepreneurs.

As part of the competition, which formally opens from February 1 to 10, students need to upload video spanning two to three minutes on their innovative projects / ideas. An eminent jury chaired by Prof. Anil Gupta of IIM-A representing academia and former Nasscom President Kiran Karnik, representing the industry, will select the winners based on these videos.

The winners will be formally announced on February 15 and the selected students will get a first-hand experience of Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area, and will interact with revolutionary IT minds at the Rajeev Circle gathering, that is held by Rajeev Motwani Foundation.

Asha said one of the qualities of the foundation was to provide support to the genius in others, especially the young people. “The foundation is trying to carry on this mission to help shape the future generations. Hence, this partnership with Startup Village becomes truly meaningful to us as we connect Startup Village to the cream of Silicon Valley” she added.
