IIITM-K & ICFOSS to organise workshop on using R

Trivandrum: The Technopark Trivandrum based Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management-Kerala (IIITM-K) and the International Centre for Free & Open Source Software (ICFOSS) are jointly organizing a three day workshop on Statistical Analysis for Scientific and Industrial Applications using R from February 27 to March 01, 2013 at IIITM-K.

The aim of the workshop is to provide an introduction to R for academics, researchers and professionals. The workshop will also provide insights into possibilities of data analysis and statistics with case studies and examples. The three days training programme will consist of expert lectures and provide insights into possibilities of data analysis and statistics with case studies and examples.

R is a free and open language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is a GNU project which is similar to the S language and environment which was developed at Bell Laboratories (formerly AT&T, now Lucent Technologies) by John Chambers and colleagues.

Faculty members, research scholars, students from colleges and universities and working professionals from industry with basic knowledge in Statistics and any programming language are eligible for this limited seats workshop.
