Thrissur: The government will setup an Incubation facility at Infopark Thrissur to promote entrepreneurship and generate employment for youth. This was announced by Chief Minister, Shri Oommen Chandy while inaugurating the second phase of Infopark Thrissur at Koratty near here.
In his address, the Chief Minister said, “Kerala has a long way to go in IT and the Infopark Thrissur project is part of the Government’s effort in that direction. The government is committed to utilising all the potential at Infopark Thrissur. For this, we will take steps to transfer another fifteen acres of land so that Infopark Thrissur gets better access to the national highway.”
The CM handed over the keys to anchor clients Almotahida Education, Uvionics Tech, Yoptimizo IT Solutions, Braddock Infotech and ICT Academy of Kerala.
The second phase consists of the Indeevaram building which is expected to bring in new impetus to Koratty, the erstwhile industrial centre. In the first phase there were only Startups and SMES. In the second phase global companies will be operating from here.
The single block building in six acres has a total built up area of 3.3 lakh sq. ft., with six floors, basement, auditorium and pantry on the ground floor, and open parking areas and food courts on the terrace. Indeevaram along with its surrounding 18 acres have been declared as SEZ that will give a boost to export oriented businesses.
Infopark Thrissur is located at Koratty in Thrissur District. The first set of IT Buildings of approximately 40,000 sq. ft. area with plug and play facilities are fully occupied with 30 Startups and SMEs. With a total investment of 100 crores, Infopark Thrissur has ambitious plans to grow as a major IT destination. It has close proximity to the airport and national highway with uninterrupted Power, Water and Connectivity.
