Trivandrum: Just days ahead of the International Women’s Day, today announced the launch of a first-of its-kind women-only delivery station, aimed at empowering women and transforming their lives.

This initiative has been kick-started with its first delivery station in Thiruvananthapuram, followed by Chennai. Through this initiative, Amazon has taken the lead to engage with women, create unique relevant job opportunities and enable them to be achievers in this field.

These dedicated Amazon India women delivery stations will, through their service partners, be completely managed and run by women. Women will deliver packages on two-wheelers, covering a radius of 2-3 kms from the delivery station.

The women-only delivery station in Thiruvananthapuram is located at Kulathoor and will cover the nearby Kazhakuttam area including the Technopark campuses. The present team consists of seven ladies who work in day shifts to deliver the goods. The station which has been functional for over a month and a half on a trial basis was formally inaugurated today.
