Kerala State IT Mission’s e-Voter app bags IT Innovation Award


Trivandrum: The e-Voter Mobile application by the Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) has bagged the Kerala Management Association-NASSCOM 2016 best IT Innovation award.

K Mohammed Y Safirulla IAS, Director of KSITM along with Project Officials received the award at a function held at Kochi.

Kerala State IT Mission, the nodal agency of Kerala State IT Department, played a pivotal role in developing and supporting various applications that are required for effective execution and monitoring of election in the State. KSITM has developed a suite of technologically innovative applications like e-Voter, e-Pariharam, e-Anumathi, e-Vahanam etc. to support the General Election to enhance the transparency and conduct of free and fair poll with improved connect with people.

e-Voter is a mobile App for voters’ facilitation for search in electoral roll, location of polling station, information regarding candidates and affidavit filed by them, filing of complaints, filing application for election related permissions etc. The eVoter App also helped people to get real time constituency wise election results on the counting day. This mobile application was used for 2016 Kerala State General Election to ensure greater transparency and conduct of free and fair election. More than 55,000 downloads of application and10 lakh electoral roll search had happened within 20 days of publishing of the App on the Internet.
