Kerala Police launches Thuna, a citizen helpdesk portal


Trivandrum: As part of their citizen friendly initiative, Kerala Police has launched Thuna, a citizen portal for providing services and information to the citizen. The website ( is intended to act as a helping hand to the general public. Users will be able to log in and download FIRs, raise complaints/service requests and know its processing status through this portal which was launched by Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan.

Complaint registration, requests for Employee Verification, Character Certificate; permissions for Event & Performances, Protests & Strikes, Processions and Sound (PA) Systems are some of the services available on this portal. Assessments of the police department and suggestions to enhance its functioning can also be submitted through the portal. A person has to register his/her name on the website to avail the services available on the portal.

Inaugurating the portal, Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan said, “This project will enhance the public friendly face of Kerala Police. Services should be provided in a timely manner so as to enhance the viability of the project. About 661 offices have been linked with the portal and the rest would be done in a time-bound manner.”

Loknath Behera, DGP; Tomin Thachankary, ADGP; B Sandhya, ADGP; Manoj Abraham, IG; and K Sethu Raman, DIG were among those present during the launch function held at the CM’s conference hall at the Secretariat.
