KITE Executive Director bags AECT ‘International Contributions’ Award for 2018


Trivandrum: K Anvar Sadath, Vice Chairman & Executive Director of Kerala Infrastructure & Technology For Education (KITE), Government of Kerala has been selected to receive ‘The International Contributions Award’ constituted by The Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) headquartered at Bloomington, USA.

In a statement, Dr Hsin-Te (Chuck) Yeh, Professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver & Award Co-ordinator of International Division of AECT said, “This honour is in recognition of Mr Sadath’s outstanding and continuous contributions to the field of educational communications and technology in the international setting. The committee is very much impressed with all his work and service to this field in the international setting especially in India.”

The AECT ( is a premier professional association for instructional design and educational technology. The organization works to provide international leadership by promoting scholarship and best practices in the creation, use and management of technologies for effective teaching and learning. AECT has 10 divisions and a Graduate Student Assembly and produces two print bimonthly journals, Dr Hsin -Tzu Chen, Private Chinese Culture University, Taiwan was the Award recipient for 2017.

Anvar Sadath now heads the implementation of Hi-tech School project which converts 45,000 classrooms of classes 8 to 12 in Kerala into Hi-tech, empowers all teachers to handle the pedagogy based classroom transactions by using the portal ‘Samagra’. He has also successfully remodelled SchoolWiki that connects 15,000 schools into a holistic content collaboration mode.

Starting his career with ER&DCI, Anvar has since then worked as Director, Akshaya; Head of UNDP supported e-Krishi; and Executive Director, IT@School project.

The Award will be presented at AECT International Convention function to be held at Kansas City in October 2018.
