Accentia starts operations from Technolodges


Tvm: Technopark based Accentia Technologies, a leading Healthcare Receivables Cycle Management (HRCM) Company offering managed services in HRCM, e-publishing and Data processing / warehousing, today kick started its operations at the recently inaugurated Technolodges at Kadakkal and Perinad in Kollam District. Technolodges are low cost rural IT parks being set up by Kerala IT.

In a release, Pradeep Vishwambharan, CEO, Accentia Technologies said, “We have appointed about 50 professionals for both the locations. They have undergone training at our Technopark facility and today, 28 of them were placed at our Kadakkal and Perinad centres. We are recruiting professionals from Kollam District for the two centres and we are hopeful to complete the recruitment process for these two Technolodges by the end of third quarter 2010.” The professionals were trained to cater to non-voice Legal and Business transcription.

Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark said, “The Technolodge initiative is the result of Kerala Government’s ambitious vision to take software exports business to small towns and villages and encourage BPO companies to operate from low cost rural centres and thereby create employment in rural areas. Accentia was the first company that came forward to set up a BPO in Kadakkal and Perinad and today, by becoming operational they have helped us achieve our vision. We congratulate Accentia on their achievement.”

He also added that Accentia beginning operations at these Technolodges will encourage other IT companies to set up similar centres in rural Kerala which would provide a major boost to the local talent. Accentia had taken up space as soon as the two Technolodges were inaugurated. About 300 employees can work across three shifts in these centres.

The Kerala Government has an ambitious plan of establishing around 100 Technolodges across the State and over 60 Panchayats have come forward offering facilities to set up Technolodges. The Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd. (KSITIL) is implementing this project and KSITIL had requested Technopark to undertake the pilot Technolodge project. Technopark made this project a reality within a short span of 4 months.
