Tvm: Infopark will take up a new project in Kochi that will provide one lakh new jobs. This was announced by the Finance Minister Dr. Thomas Isaac today in his budget speech for 2010-11.

Presenting his budget, Shri Thomas Isaac said, “The Smart City at Kochi will definitely be implemented. Unfortunately, the project is indefinitely getting delayed due to the demands raised by TECOM that were not in the original agreement. Infopark will initiate a project which can generate 1 lakh employment opportunities. 150 acres of land will be acquired by this month. This will be implemented in two phases as planned in the case of Vizhinjam project. Infopark itself will take up the first phase activities. Rs.50 crore is earmarked for the initial expenses.  A suitable business model will be formulated in the line of CIAL or VISL for the second phase.”
