E-mail

Tvm: It was a moment of grief and disbelief at the Tata Elxsi centre in Technopark today morning when the employees came to know about the passing away of their Centre Head, R Natarajan.

Ramanathan Natarajan was the Vice President and Centre Head of the Design and Development Centre of Tata Elxsi in Trivandrum. He was also leading the development centres in Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad and Coimbatore.

Natarajan joined Tata Elxsi in April 2001 from a senior position at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC), and under his able leadership, the centre in Thiruvananthapuram grew from a small core team to the centre of excellence with over 700 engineers today. His contributions to Tata Elxsi in the last nine years were many and varied, and his leadership qualities and spirit of winning, set him apart.

In his condolence message, Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark said, “The Technopark community will sorely miss him, a man always with a smiling face. May his soul rest in peace and may his family members have the strength to bear the loss”. Talking to Kerala IT News, Binu Sankar, CEO, GTech said, “It’s a great loss to Technopark. He was a great technologist and a leader par excellence. We had a long association with him and he will be missed badly”.

Natarajan had more than 30 years of experience in embedded technology in providing mission critical solutions for different business verticals like avionics, automotive and industrial automation. He was regarded as a visionary leader and highly respected by everyone who worked with him, and his absence will be deeply felt by all. His bereaved family includes his mother, wife and two daughters.

In passing away of Mr.R.Natarajan we had lost a wonderful human being a gentle friend from REC Trichy where we had spent five wondeful years together.

I had the priveliege of being his room mate during the first year of study and we continued our with our course ion the Electronics and Communication stream there after. On passing out our career took us in different path and i vividly recall meeting him at Trivandrum during his early stint with ISRO TVM.
Possibly his busy schedule kept him out of contact and during our batch get together we would miss him.

I have no suitable word to console the bereaved family except offer prayer in silence to rest the soul in peace and give the family enough strength and courage to face the life and move on to fulfill his long cherished goals and desires .

May God bless them all.

Thanks for taking the time to write and publish this note. Mr. Natarajan is my uncle and I was pretty close to him when he did his ME in IIT Chennai. Even though we went different ways, I always admired him for his honesty and straight forwardness in dealing with any issue. His kids were brought up with the same integrity as well.

We will all miss him terribly and hope his soul rests in peace.
