Tvm: For techies in Technopark who want a quick break from the project pressures and a rendezvous with the sea, head towards Veli.
Just about 8 kms from the Technopark in Trivandrum is the popular Veli tourist village, where the Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea. This tourist village is one of the rare spots in Kerala, where one can enjoy the beach, besides a lake, landscaped garden, a floating restaurant a swimming pool and rides in the lake.
Recently watersports have been introduced here. You can also hire speedboats, pedalboats and paddleboats to explore the charms of the lagoon in a leisurely manner. Veli is currently undergoing a facelift. Kerala Tourism is setting up a 325 metre walkway on the Veli beach. The efforts would eventually elevate the status of Veli tourist village among destinations in Kerala.
