Gurgaon: UCWeb, a leading global provider of mobile internet software and services, has announced its first Corporate Social Responsibility initiative for India by extending its support to Amitasha. Amitasha is an independent NGO that manages five afternoon schools where girl children are taught, loved and cared.
Amitasha, in its philanthropic initiative of supporting underprivileged girls, provides free education, meals and healthcare facilities to these girl students. A part of the Amity Humanity Foundation, it even provides college education to the girl students at Amity’s various campuses across India.
As a part of the initiative, UCWeb would be supporting and spreading the Diwali festivities among 1,000 girl students of Amitasha by purchasing special Diwali Greeting cards and Diyas prepared by them. The substantial resources provided by UCWeb will be utilized by Amitasha to continue providing free education, meals and other benefits being given to these students.
On the occasion of Diwali, UCWeb will invite its users and fans to visit the company’s official Facebook page and place their orders for Diyas and Greeting cards. The company would share the gifts prepared by Amitasha’s students with its users and fans without charging them any money. In order to support UCWeb in its noble initiative, the users can just visit the company’s official Facebook page at facebook.com/ucmobindia to participate.
In a release, Kenny Ye, MD of UCWeb India, said “UCWeb has always been committed to being a good and responsible company. India is our second headquarters after China and we are keen not only to increase our business presence here but are also to do our bit for the society. We take pride in conducting our business with unfailing integrity to our users, partners and employees and the same is reflected in the ways we choose to address our responsibilities towards the society.”
Dr. Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools, said “Amitasha initiative is very close to my heart and every year during Diwali we give Amitasha students a chance to make Diyas, greeting cards and encourage them to use their creative instincts.
