Kochi to host Ruby & JavaScript Developer Meet on Nov 17

Kochi: The Ruby Users Group in Kerala (K-RUG) and the Kerala JavaScript Developers Group (Kerala JS) will be organising a unique gathering of Ruby and JavaScript developers at Kochi on November 17, 2013. The fusion event of client and server side technologies will be held at the QBurst premises in Tejomaya building (L & T Tech Park) inside the Infopark campus in Kochi.

K-RUG and Kerala JS are forums that provide opportunities for the developer community in Kerala to connect, network, and share knowledge. Their meet-ups are open to developers, students, and all technology enthusiasts.

K-RUG has regular meet-ups to discuss emerging technology trends and challenging Ruby projects. This time, QBurst is playing host to their monthly meet and has compounded the technology intensive experience with a JavaScript twist by organising the community gathering of Kerala JS also on the same day.

According to a statement from the organisers, the day is planned to start off with sessions dedicated to JavaScript discussions by various developers from around Kerala. From a quick glance into the QBurst JS perspective to in-depth discussions centred on programming paradigm and front-end technologies in the cloud, the forenoon session is bound to be enriching. In the afternoon, the focus will shift to server-side applications as Ruby experts take over. Ruby frameworks, Rails 4, developer environments, and automated testing in Rails are some of the topics that will be covered.

Shameer C, organiser of the Kerala JS meet said, “The idea behind these meet-ups is to build a community of developers working on these technologies and provide a platform for them to interact with each other”.

“We conduct monthly meet-ups to share our experiences. There will be sessions by those with expertise and this helps everyone learn, understand, and grow as a developer,” added Kannan Reghu, who is coordinating the Ruby event.
