KFC workshop on innovation led entrepreneurship on Dec 03


Trivandrum: As part of its diamond Jubilee celebrations, Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC) is organising a workshop on ‘Innovation-led and Technology-intensive Entrepreneurship: The way ahead for Kerala’ on December 03, 2013 in Thiruvananthapuram.

According to P Joy Oommen, Chairman & Managing Director of KFC, “Of late, there has been a perception that dependence on traditional factors of production may not be the best way to promote entrepreneurship in Kerala. Innovation and state of the art technologies could probably make the difference. It is in this context that KFC has decided to organise this day long workshop”.

There will be three sessions on ‘Issues in Innovations, Technology and Entrepreneurship’; ‘Innovations and Technologies for Social Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Understanding the world of Startups’.

“We have attempted to bring together eminent speakers and experts familiar with innovations and technologies making a difference to the lives of individuals, business and the society. We hope to make it worthwhile for each and every participant”, Joy added.

Founded in 1953, Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC) is a government owned non-banking financial company. KFC is the implementing agency for the State Government’s Entrepreneur Development Mission Scheme.

The Kerala State Entrepreneur Development Mission (KSEDM) is an ambitious scheme of the Government of Kerala that aims at inculcating entrepreneurial confidence among youth of the State. The Mission aims at establishment of 10 micro enterprises in each local body in five years thereby giving encouragement to 50,000 entrepreneurs, about 50,000 more employment opportunities and much more indirect employment.
