The Week That Was (Aug 30 – Sept 5)

Cisco transforming UST Global’s new campus at Trivandrum into a smart campus was the highlight of the week. It was all over the media, be it newspapers or the online media. If the campus comes out as per the plans, this one project will become a showpiece for Trivandrum.

Another round of letter writing between the State Government and Tecom, the promoters of the SmartCity Kochi project, was initiated this week after the Cabinet meeting. Let’s wait for the results, hopefully in the next 15 days.

Capt. Raghu Ram, Head of the National Intelligence Grid was in Trivandrum for couple of hours. It was a pleasure to hear him addressing the delegates of the 26th National Students Convention, organised by the Computer Society of India. Also met M D Agrawal, VP, CSI & GM, BPCL after 11 years. The last I met him was in Mumbai for the Annual CSI Convention in 1999.

Btw, last weekend we had a big surprise when there was a sudden surge of our followers on Twitter. More that 50 followers in just a day! It took us some time to figure out the reason. One of the tweets from Kerala IT News was retweeted by Shashi Tharoor and 67 others. Thanks tweeple!
