Trivandrum: Prathidhwani, an association of employees working in Technopark, is organising ‘qisa’ the first of its kind short film festival in September. The ‘qisa’ film festival will showcase short films made or directed by techies. qisa will also be a forum for budding filmmakers and movie enthusiasts in Technopark to mingle and explore the art of short cinema.
According to the organisers, this is a never before opportunity for techies to showcase their movie making talent and also to screen their moving visuals in front of the Technopark community. The mega event is happening on September 15, 2012 at the Park Centre. The entry is restricted to short films shot after August 01, 2010 and made by an employee or employees of any company in Technopark.
The movies will be reviewed by a renowned judging panel. Pratidhwani has announced cash prizes and mementoes for the Best Short film, second Best Short film, Best Director and Best Actor. These will be presented on September 20 by a film celebrity at a function to screen the award winning films.
Interacting with Kerala IT News, Bijumon Attipil, President of Prathidhwani and an employee of Vanilla Networks in Technopark, said, “qisa stands for short in the Azerbaijani language. In 2010, the Azerbaijani Film Festival in Armenia was blocked as a result of a terror and blackmailing carried out by some pressure groups. The event was organized by the Armenia based Caucasus Centre for Peace Making Initiatives. So to support the cause of the organisers, we have named this festival as qisa.”
“Till now there are 13 registrations and there have been several enquiries about the event. The last date for entry is August 31”, added Bijumon. Check out qisa.prathidhwani.org for more details and the entry form. Prathidhwani is a 3 dimensional organisation with a mindset to contribute to the technical, cultural and social life inside Technopark.
