Trivandrum: Oracle is hosting a hackathon in Thiruvananthapuram this weekend (March 21, 2015) in collaboration with Venturesity, a challenge platform, to hunt for good tech talent. Venturesity aims to engage experienced developers and C++ enthusiasts at the hackathon to be held at Oracle’s office in Technopark Campus.
The hackathon would be a 24-hour coding session that will require developers to build innovative applications using C++. Oracle’s Bangalore hackathon last week was a great success where professionals between 5-15 years participated.
Oracle’s PeopleSoft applications are designed to address the most complex business requirements. They provide comprehensive business and industry solutions, enabling organizations to increase productivity, accelerate business performance, and provide a lower cost of ownership.
In a statement, Pramod Agarwal, Vice President – Product Development at Oracle said, “Our current focus requires a new breed of engineers with fresh mindset and energy. We are excited to use the hackathon as a unique hiring search strategy.”
PeopleSoft has one of its largest development centres in Bangalore and recently started another centre in Trivandrum. The hackathon is an invite only event for selected developers with over three years of experience, and limited to 50 developers for each location.
Prashant Koirala, Co-founder, Venturesity said, “Hackathon approach gives developers an opportunity to meet the Oracle leadership team and explore an opportunity to join one of the leading technology companies in the world by working on the real challenges.”
Venturesity is a platform where companies can discover top talent through challenges. Their challenges are real world projects that would help candidates showcase their job skills to prospective employers and build credibility into their profiles.
Interested techies can apply on Venturecity’s website to participate in the hackathon.
