The mobile growth on hotels for Kochi has been significant across the country, and we’re very excited about the adoption of our Mobile app, here.”
“For Advance Purchase Patterns in Kochi, we’ve witnessed a steady graph around last-minute travel. A noteworthy highlight in Cleartrip’s insight showed that over 36% bookings from Cochin happen 0-7 days from the actual date of travel. Pegging travellers from the city as last-minute bookers, this average is pretty close to the National Average of 43% last-minute bookers across India, which indicates that Cochin travels as much at the last minute as the rest of the Country,” he added.
Kochi welcomes Dubai, Singapore, Sharjah & Male amongst the top few International destinations from the city. Other International holiday spots from Cochin that make it to the top 10 include Colombo, Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur. Closer to home, Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi are the top three domestic destinations from Cochin, while Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Kolkata are not too far behind in the list.
While most of the city heads to Munnar, Thiruvananthapuram and Mysore for its weekend break, other destinations like Guruvayoor, Kollam, Athirapilly, Thekkady and Thrissur are also witnessing strong y-o-y growth.
Interestingly, when compared to the rest of Kerala, Cleartrip’s insight shows that Kumarakom, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Kozhikode and Wayanad together, contribute to almost as many room-nights, as this Queen of the Arabian Sea does alone.
