Kannur: Kannur Technolodge, an initiative formed under the auspices of KSITIL (Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd.) and Kerala Startup Mission, conducted the first of its kind Venture Capitalist meet-up ‘Technovation 2015’ in Kannur.
Ajith Balakrishnan, Chief Executive Officer of rediff.com and Balu Nayar, Managing Director & Co- Founder of Morpheus Fund were the key dignitaries for the event. K Purushothaman, Senior Director, NASSCOM; Ajith Kumar, CEO, Cyber Park Calicut; U Faisal, BIC, Kannur University; and Mahesh Balika from North Malabar Chamber of Commerce were also present on the occasion.
Ten technology startups from Kannur showcased their products in various fields like Campus Management, Media Advertising, ERP, CRM, Business Communication, e-Commerce and Skill Management.
In his interaction with the participants, Ajith encouraged them to form a structure involving Kannur Technolodge, North Malabar Chamber of commerce And BIC, Kannur University to fund the start-ups with innovative products from Kannur. Mahesh and Faisal agreed to coordinate the same.
Expressing his support, Purushothaman promised to bring NASSCOM sponsored workshops on AI/AR , UI/UX and Sales to guide the budding IT Start-ups in Kannur . He also promised to conduct the NASSCOM 20-20 event in Kannur, in coordination with Kannur Technolodge.
In his remarks, Nithin Madhavan, MD of Kannur Technolodge has ensured to conduct more such events to encourage the it entrepreneurship in Kannur and coordinate with BIC and Chamber to form the funding structure as proposed by Ajith.
Kannur Technolodge was launched with an objective of providing infrastructure, technical support and mentoring to budding IT entrepreneurs of Kannur by synergizing across existing IT Ecosystem, consumers and Government.
