Alappuzha: The architect for the Ambalappuzha Infopark will be finalised soon. Infopark Kochi has empanelled 20 companies for the final list. The new Infopark is coming at Purackadu in Ambalappuzha. Work has also been alloted ABC and Sons Company for constructing bund wall and dredging and filling works for reclaiming the land at Purackadu for the development of the Infopark.
“All the procedures for finalising the architect have been completed and the architect will be appointed after the bypoll,” Infopark officials said. In order to set up the park at Ambalappuzha, the State Government had identified 100-acres of land at Purackadu. Of the 100 acre, the State Government had handed over 80-acres of land to Infopark and around 20-acres land needed to be acquired from private landowners.
The land acquisition has not been started till date owing to the dispute in land value fixed by the government for surrendering the land. Of the 20 acres land, the landowners of 17 acres agreed to surrender their land without any delay, said the officials. However, the owners of the remaining land have not given their consent till date. After completing the land development works, the construction of building will be started.
The Union Government’s Board of Approval for Special Economic Zone(SEZ) had earlier granted formal SEZ approval for 33 acres of land of the park. “We have already submitted necessary documents to the Centre for issuing SEZ notification and SEZ Development Commissioner will soon visit the land prior to issuing notification,” Infopark officials said.
