Tvm: The Group of Technopark Companies (GTech), the strategic Grouping of IT Companies in Kerala, has requested the state Government to reconsider its decision to take possession of the Trivandrum Golf Club.
Talking to Kerala IT News, Mr. Binu Sankar, CEO, GTech said that while there is an urgent need to create proper social infrastructure for the IT professionals in Trivandruma, this decision will send out wrong signals among the techies. Several industry leaders at the recently concluded India IT Summit here had referred to the lack of good social infrastructure in the state which often dampens the interest of IT professionals from outside Kerala taking up a job here.
GTech also felt that the takeover decision of the Trivandrum Golf Club by the Government would hurt the attractiveness of the state in the eyes of potential Investors at a time when the city is gradually evolving has a focal point for Knowledge based Industries.
GTech requested the state Government to consider Trivandrum Golf Club as a means to market the city to potential investors in the IT and Tourism Industries. The Trivandrum Golf Club is one of India’s oldest golf clubs and a favourite place for the techies in city. Several corporate events of IT companies are also held at the club.
