Tvm: ‘IFFK is glad to announce that the balcony ticket reservation for December 14 starts now!’; ‘This is to notify that the last film scheduled for Kripa theatre today has been replaced. Apologies for the inconvenience caused’.
Well, these are some of the messages being received by the delegates attending the 14th International Film Festival of Kerala, currently underway in Trivandrum. IFFK has gone hi-tech and is using the latest technology to make life easy for the delegates, guests and the media, as well. Delegates are regularly informed of festival schedules and programme changes through SMS.
The online booking which was introduced last year has been simplified. The bookings can be done by SMS or online. Each delegate has been given a Register number and password on the delegate pass and using this, a maximum of 3 Balcony seats can be reserved in advance for the next two days. As the passes are barcoded, a door authentication system has been installed at each theatre entrance to validate the booking. That’s it! No hassles of printing out tickets also.
For those who have mastered the fine art of sending SMS’, the format for the reservation is REG.NOPASSWORDDATETHEATRE FILMCODE and send it to 94463 01234. And in case you can’t do both, there is still the good old booking counter at the main venue.
The IFFK website is very comprehensive and had the options of online registration of delegates, guest and the media, which worked out very well. The web interface of IFFK, the online and SMS booking is being done and managed by Technopark based Azinova Technologies.
