Speaking to Kerala IT News from New Delhi, Mr. K G Girish Babu, CEO, UL Cyberpark said, “It’s a proud moment for UL Cyberpark to be Malabar’s first IT SEZ”.
The UL Cyberpark is coming up on 25.11 acres of land owned by the Urankul Labour Co-operative Society (ULCCS) at Nellikuda near Kozhkode. The park will have 22 lakh sq.ft space with an investment of about Rs. 600 crores to generate direct employment of about 22,000 people in the first phase. The ULCCS IT Infrastructure Ltd., which is developing the UL Cyberpark has got the Special Economic Zone developer status and hopes to launch the first phase by 2011. The ULCCS is a construction society established in 1925. The society has to its credit long years of meritorious survival and it tops the list of best working Labour Contract Co-operatives in India.
