Before the start of the programme, techies took time out to pay homage to one of their colleagues. Remembering Bhuvana Sundar 23, who collapsed while participating in the rally on Monday, his colleagues from IBS shared their memories of a livewire person whose presence could not be missed from any event. Dileep C, the lead coordinator for Tech-a-break from IBS was very emotional when he spoke about Bhuvana, “He was always the first to volunteer for any activity and today it’s difficult to believe he is not amongst us. He participated in all the events and was also at the forefront organising them”.
IBS also announced instituting a Trophy in the fond memory of their colleague, for the most livewire and enthusiastic participant in Tech-a-break who has to be nominated by companies. In fact as a respect for Bhuvana, IBS ran an internal poll to decide on continuing their participation in the remaining events of Tech-a-break. “Any prize that we win would be dedicated to Bhuvana”, he added.
M Vasudevan, Sr. Manager (BD), Technopark termed this as the most tragic event in the history of Tech-a-break. Photographs of Bhuvana’s participation in the rally, till minutes before he collapsed, were also showcased.
Meanwhile, IBS was declared the winners in the Rally Masquerades category.
