New York: The Federation of Kerala Associations in North America (FOKANA) is getting into new ventures for the benefit of IT professionals in US. The FOKANA IT Mission (FITM), the IT initiative of FOKANA is conducting a series of workshops in US and India.
FITM is based on the philosophy, ‘Give something back to our motherland & give something back to our professional domain’. The first such event as part of the FITM Workshop Series, ‘Agile Software development using Scrum’, will be conducted on April 17, 2010 at New York.
This workshop is targeted at Project Managers, Developers, Testers, Business Analysts, or Senior Managers who want to be part of an Agile / Scrum team, or want to learn the basics of Agile and Scrum. The workshop will give practical advice on how to get started on an Agile project.
The highlight of the workshop will be the Keynote Presentation by George Abraham, Chief Technology Officer, United Nations Pension Fund. The workshop will be handled by Manoj Vadakkan, Agile Coach & Release Manager, CGI Federal. As the CTO of UNPF, George is responsible for Global IT Operations for the 38 Billion dollar Pension Fund for UN employees that included offices in New York and Geneva. He’s been with the UN for 36 years in various capacities. Manoj Vadakkan has been working in the IT Industry with Start-ups to Fortune 50 companies for over 15 years as a Project Manager and Consultant. He is a Certified Scrum Master & Practitioner (CSM & CSP) and a Project Management Professional (PMP) based in Virginia.
