Kochi: IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Ltd. (IKSL) has started an Agri Market Intelligence helpline at the Agricultural Market Intelligence Centre (AMIC) functioning at College of Horticulture, Kerala Agricultural University, Vellanikara. The pepper, cardamom and coconut farmers can avail the service of AMIC helpline by calling 8129628797.
The helpline facility was inaugurated by K G Luke, State Manager, IKSL by handing over a mobile handset to Dr. C P Manomohan, Associate Director- Extension, KAU at a function held at Peringadoor Service Cooperative Bank at Athani near Thrissur.
According to George N L, Head – Sales & Marketing, IKSL , “The service is provided absolutely free of cost to the farmers irrespective of the connection they are using. All the Greencard mobile users will enjoy the market intelligence updates from AMIC on the Pepper, Cardamom and Coconut.” Greencard is a special mobile connection launched by IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Ltd. (IKSL), the rural information and telecommunications subsidiary of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-operative Ltd. (IFFCO) in partnership with Bharti Airtel for empowering the famers.
The Greencard users will continue to enjoy the benefits of free voice calls on farming techniques, weather forecasts, dairy farming, animal husbandry, rural health initiatives, fertilizer availability, market prices of agri produces etc, on a daily basis in malayalam. The customers also have call back facility to listen the last 5 Messages recorded at any time. They also have dedicated helpline, manned by experts from various fields to derive answers to specific queries related to agriculture and allied subjects.
