Tvm: The fifth edition of TechTop came to a close today with the team from Sasthra University of Thanjavur walking away with the Degree C Award and a cash prize of Rs. One Lakh for their project on ‘Production of Nano-carbon sheets from the exhaust pipies in Industries’. Jaipur Engineering College was the runner up and Cape Institute of Technology from Tirunelveli came third.
The Universal Mobile Automation System project got the runner’s up prize of Rs.50,000 for the Jaipur Engineering College while the ‘Dark Net – an initiative to furnish remote areas with Internet facility’ gave the Cape Institute of Technology the third prize of Rs.30,000 and also a special prize for being an all women’s team.
19 teams from seven states participated in the two day innovation fest held at Technopark Trivandrum. TechTop is a National Innovation Competition for Engineering Students across the country organised by Technopark and Degree Controls Inc, in an effort to locate budding techno entrepreneurs at an early stage.
