New Delhi: Brocade, the San Jose based leading networking solutions enabler, today announced the appointment of K P Unnikrishnan as Director of Marketing for Asia Pacific. In his new role, Unnikrishnan will lead the regional marketing team to help drive marketing excellence in Asia Pacific through building brand awareness for Brocade in the Ethernet market, generate qualified sales leads, and spearhead integrated programs to help bring the Brocade One™ unifying network architecture and strategy to market throughout the region.
Unnikrishnan will be based in Singapore and report to the Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Elaine Cheung. Unnikrishnan joins Brocade from Sun Microsystems where he was Regional Marketing Director for Emerging Markets, responsible for executing Sun’s global marketing strategy across the Emerging Markets region, spanning South East Europe, Latin America, Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa, India and Greater China. Under his leadership, the company recorded significant increases in qualified leads contributing to a strong revenue pipeline and new customer acquisitions.

Unnikrishnan has also held marketing and sales positions at Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), Datacraft, and HCL Hewlett-Packard. He is a Mechanical Engineer and holds a Diploma in Business Administration.
Unni who was born in Ottapalam in Palakkad District, has strong connections with Kerala though he spent most of his childhood time and growing up life travelling across India and parts of the world. Talking to Kerala IT News, Unni said, “I make it a point to be in Kerala once every year. While at Sun Microsystems, he had worked closely with the Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management – Kerala based in Technopark, Trivandrum.
