IBS to host International Airline Forum in Dubai


Tvm: The Technopark based travel and logistics software provider, IBS Software Services, is hosting a global airline meet, the IBS International Airline Forum, at Dubai from October 25-28, 2010. The event is expected to see the participation of over 120 senior most officials from over 35 airlines all over the world.

The International Airline Forum with the theme ‘Partnering for Transformation’, a first of its kind event to be hosted by an individual IT solutions provider, would be one of the largest conglomerations of the airline industry.

Interacting with the media, V K Mathews, Chairman & CEO, IBS Group said, “The IBS Airline Forum will focus on how airlines and IT solution providers can join hands to create a sustainable and predictable industry. The focus is on how we can recommend profitable business models to the operators to improve operational efficiency. The idea is to keep the costs below the price, basically increase revenue per passenger than revenue per ticket.”

The event would also see workshops on airline operations, cargo and maintenance which will aim to identify three areas with potential for improvement. Mathews expressed the hope that some of the outcome of these international workshops will be come industry standards. The Forum is part of IBS’ continuous pursuit to provide though leadership to the air transportation industry to help it remain competitive in an ever changing and evolving market. IBS, a market leader in the cargo and airline operations, plans to keep this as an annual event at different locations.

CEOs, CIOs, Thought Leaders and Independent Analysts, apart from some of IBS’ airline customers and partners, are expected to attend the conclave which will be held at The Address Dubai Marina. British Airways, KLM, Quantas and Emirates are few of the biggies from the airline industry who have confirmed to participate in the Airline Forum.
