Akshaya opens Citizen Service Centre at Technopark


Tvm: The techies working in the Technopark in Trivandrum need not worry anymore about payment defaults of their utility bills or taxes because of their inability to go for making these payments during office hours. Akshaya, the ICT initiative of the Kerala State IT Mission, has opened a Citizen Service Centre (CSC) in Technopark.

The Citizen Service Centre which has come up in the Bhavani building in Technopark campus was inaugurated today by Ishita Roy IAS, Director, IT Mission in the presence of Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark and Korath V Mathew, Director, Akshaya. The CSC will start functioning from January 19, 2011.

Talking to Kerala IT News, Korath said, “This is yet another scheme of Akshaya to bring the G2C services to the citizen’s doorsteps, in this case, to their workplace. Over a period of time, we plan to give the services of about 40 Government Departments which will be beneficial to the 25,000 odd professionals working in Technopark”. Akshaya has about 2,000 Citizen Service Centres across Kerala and this is the first CSC in an IT Park.

Payment of Water, Electricity and Telephone bills; Government Taxes, Vehicle Taxes, License fees and various certificates from Government Departments are some of the services that can be availed from an Akshaya CSC. The space for setting up the centre has been provided on a subsidised rate by Technopark for the benefit of the large number of employees working in the campus.
